We, the Punjabis has been residing and serving in Andhra Pradesh much before it was formed. Our ancestors came to Deccan along with Gurus and settled here since then.
Today, Punjabis are around 25000 in the twin cities and are widely spread all over. We are proud to mention that after having achieved success and respectable lively hood, under the banner of Punjabi Seva Samithi, we have been untiringly organizing and conducting numerous social and services camps for the benefit of the poor and needy irrespective of any caste or creed.
To name a very few of our services that our Samithi has been extending are:-
- Monthly Free Medical Camps at different locations wherein free medicines were distributed to the poor and needy.
- Monthly Free Eye Check Camp at different locations wherein free specs were distributed to the poor and free operations were carried out to the required patients.
- Assisting all possible help to the visitors of Fish Medicine Camp by Bathini Brothers including free food with “Parhej Ka Khana” and material assistance.
- Adopting children from orphanage by our members.
- Adoption of people from Home for Old age by our members.
- Community Matrimonial services.
- We have extended Relief materials to Bihar flood victims and Andhra Flood Victims with utensils/cloths/medicine etc.
- Blood donation camps at regular intervals.
- Quaterly in-House news magazine “Punjabiat”.
- “Mata-Ki-Chowki” every quaterly at different locations of twin cities.
- Organising Annual festival of Lohri Mela every year in the month of January. A get-together of All Punjabis residing in twin cities.
- Issuing of I.D.Cards/Member’s Telephone Diary and discounts vouchers for the benefit of members.
- Tying up with different Punjabi Organizations of the Country for mutual benefits.
- We have joined our hands with "RASTRIYA PUNJABI MAHA SANGH" based at Raipur.
We have approached the State Government for the following:
- Land in twin cities to set up community hall and institutions to serve the poor and needy.
- Minority status for all Punjabi residing in state.
